Sometimes, when I visit the Disneyland Resort, I’m on a budget. Other times, I’m just lazy and don’t want to think about lunch. When either of those scenarios take place, my solution is to head over to Refreshment Corner at Disneyland Park for one of my favorite bargain meals.
Now, we all have our guilty pleasures in the park. I’m sure there are some of y’all out there eating those prehistoric turkey legs, otherwise they wouldn’t still be selling them. So, let me have my indulgence and don’t forget that calories don’t count at Disneyland.
When that lunchtime mood strikes, I head to Main Street, U.S.A., and for just under $10, I grab the Chili Cheese Dog Basket from Refreshment Corner. The meal includes a premium all-beef hot dog topped with hearty chili and shredded cheese. It’s served with a small bag of Lay’s plain potato chips or a Cuties mandarin orange.
There are a few tables outside Refreshment Corner, but I tend to use the nearby seating in front of Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. Either location provides for some great people-watching amidst the sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A.
While this is definitely not fine dining, the chili dog is tasty and filling, and should provide you with some great energy to continue your day.
When I was at Disneyland in July, the meal price was $9.79, but the current pricing on the app shows that the price has increased to $9.99, still keeping it under my magical $10 price point. Just for comparison, the Corn Dog Basket (with chips or orange) from the Little Red Wagon is priced at $10.59.
Do you have a favorite (and tasty) budget-friendly meal or just a guilty indulgence at the Disneyland Resort that I should check out on my next trip?
