Stretch Your Disneyland Food Budget With 5 Familiar Chains

As many of you already know, the Disneyland Resort is located right in the middle of the Anaheim resort district, with a large variety of restaurants, hotels, and shops just outside the Disney bubble. Many of them are even within walking distance, making it fairly easy to get to from Disneyland.

I’ve been sharing a lot about the Good Neighbor Hotels where I’ve been staying, but I thought I would also share with you some familiar food options that are just steps from the Parks. If you’re staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel, you may even pass some of these on your way to Disneyland. Even if you’re staying on property, it might be worth a field trip when the kids (or grown-ups) need something familiar.

I’m going to stick to 5 restaurants that are within a block either way of the Harbor Boulevard pedestrian entrance to the Disneyland Resort.

Panera Bread

If you cross the street and head about a half a block to the left, you’ll find Panera. While the salads and sandwiches might not save you money for lunch, stopping in for a pastry and coffee in the morning sure will.

McDonald’s

Those famous Golden Arches sit next to Panera…slightly closer to the Resort. While you may not find all of the value menu items you would at your local restaurant, it will definitely beat the prices at Disneyland, especially if you are a fan of their app. Sometimes you just need a McGriddle in the morning or some chicken nuggets for lunch, so it’s nice having McDonald’s nearby.

This is one of the closest chain restaurants to the Disneyland Resort, located just across the street. If you’re craving some of their famous pancakes or just want breakfast for dinner, it couldn’t be any more convenient.

Denny’s

Located across the street and just a few steps to the right, this 24-hour location is perfect for a meal away from the parks, night or day, or even a late-night snack after the fireworks. As with McDonald’s, you may not find all of the same bargains as at home, but you should save some money over food in the Parks.

The Pizza Press

While not a large chain, the food itself is familiar enough for me to add this to my list. We actually talked about Pizza Press on the legacy Disneyland podcast, long before I experienced some of the larger chains of quick fire pizza like Pieology, MOD, or Blaze. This is slightly longer walk, but still manageable on a lunch break.

While I didn’t put it on my list, there is also a Tony Roma’s in the same area. My feeling, though, is that if you’re going to spend that much money on a meal away from the Parks, why not spend the money in the Parks?

Another restaurant that didn’t make my list is Mimi’s Cafe, which is located just beyond Panera. It’s still close enough to walk, but not as close as some of the other options.

If you’re staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel, you can even expand your search a little further, checking out some of the restaurants at the larger hotels or even Anaheim Garden Walk.

I have definitely been known to grab a breakfast or lunch at this McDonald’s and have enjoyed a pizza or two from Pizza Press, but any of these restaurants will make for a familiar meal that could help you with your vacation budget.

While I’ve only mentioned a handful of locations, there are plenty of other eateries located nearby. Is there an off-property restaurant that you would recommend that didn’t make my list?
