If you know anything about Ryno, you know he loves the Disneyland Resort and he especially loves the Avengers Campus. So, guess what that means? It’s time for another Disney Snack Attack! This time at PYM’s Test Kitchen to try three new menu items.

PYM’s is a place you definitely want to utilize Mobile Order. This will save you a lot of time and the opportunity to find a table – it’s a popular restaurant!

First up for new menu items is the Reactor Melt, made with garlic pesto toasted sourdough, mozzarella, basil and tomato, served with potato barrels for $14.99. This was definitely not one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches Ryno has had and the garlic pesto flavor was missing from the sourdough. In fact, there was little flavor at all. The shining star was the PYM’s potato barrels which are always fried to perfection with the right amount of crunch.

Also new is the Humongous Taco Salad which is a taco shell loaded with romaine tossed in chipotle ranch and topped with chicken, corn, bell pepper, cotija, and avocado for $14.49. The size is deceiving and not actually bigger than any other taco salad just served as a taco and not a bowl. The flavor was good and was light and refreshing on a warm day. While this is a good addition, Ryno still recommends getting the Not So Little Chicken Sandwich at PYM’s.

And finally for dessert, the new Choco Smash Cake for $8.99 – layers of brownie, white chocolate and peanut butter ganache with crunch pearls, white cake, dark chocolate truffle mousse, white chocolate caramel Bavarian cream, coated in chocolate ganache, and topped with roasted peanuts. As Ryno put it, this was the tiniest, thinnest piece of cake with the longest description. The flavors were all there and were really good but laughably small. On a personal note, I’m outraged that the Choco Smash candy bar is no longer on the menu, and I am boycotting this replacement.
