I was reading a book about Walt Disney the other day. It got me to thinking what it would be like to meet this man in person. I wasn’t a Disney fan when he was alive but I did watch his television shows.
My life would be totally different if Walt Disney hadn’t decided to create a place where children and parents could have fun together. I wouldn’t be living in Florida. I will still be living up North. I wouldn’t have friends from around the world if he hadn’t dreamed of creating Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
So if you could invite Walt Disney to dinner and you had the chance to ask one question, what would it be? I asked on my Facebook page and here are some of the answers I got.
- Tara L.- I wouldn’t ask anything, I would just say Thank you!
I am sure many of us in the Disney community would like to thank the man for the theme parks, movies and attractions.
- Diane B.- If he could see the results of his efforts, what would he change?
What would you change at Walt Disney World if you had the chance?
- Suzzanne L.- Do you know the level of joy you bring?
- Daniel P- How do you feel about how EPCOT turned out?
Since Walt Disney wasn’t alive to see Walt Disney World open it would be interesting to hear what he thought about the parks the Imagineers created from his ideas.
- Justine C- What is the one thing he wouldn’t want to change in the parks?
- Jack F- Was theme parks your ultimate goal? Or was your vision far beyond theme parks?
- Tom H- Due to all the new technology over the years; did he ever have plans to expand, (making it larger) the Carousel of Progress instead of just skipping ahead so many years like it is today? What would his thoughts be after all these years.
- Rene G- Starbucks? Yay or nay?
Do you think Walt Disney would be happy that an outside company was running a business inside the parks? I think he wouldn’t have a problem with it as long as it followed his ideals for the park.
- Patricia B. – Good question Kathy. Did he ever foresee that certain people would be priced out of special events and or the parks themselves?
- Angelina P.- What does he think about the rate of time it takes now between “idea” and “completion” of property additions or changes?
I would love to spend some time with Walt Disney to just hear him tell stories about the ideas he had, the men and women that he worked with. I would want to know if he realized when he started to create his dream if he ever thought about just how big his enterprise would become.
Since so many people wonder if Walt Disney would approve of the changes, how did he feel about them?
A girl can dream but it sure would be wonderful to meet this man in person. He has changed the lives of so many people around the world it has inspired me to dream big in my life.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Walt Disney
‘Till next time, See you in the parks!
