Released over a decade after the original, Avatar: The Way of Water was one of the most highly anticipated sequels, thanks to its dedicated fan base. The second part of this movie franchise hit cinemas in 2022 and has earned over 2.2 billion dollars and counting in only a matter of months. Now, Disney has revealed the digital release date for this title, and it is sooner than we would have excited.
Avatar: The Way of Water will be available from March 28th on digital platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV, Vudu, and Movies Anywhere, and is said to include bonus, never-before-seen content for an additional three hours of viewing. In a departure from the company’s usual marketing strategy, Disney+ will not be streaming the title until after its initial digital release, which steps away from the entertainment giant’s recent approach of quickly moving popular titles to its streaming platform.
