Disney-Pixar Coco Merchandise for Everyone in Your Familia

The Disney-Pixar hit, Coco, is taking U.S. theaters by storm as it dominates the box office. Not surprisingly, Disney Merchandise has released a wonderful line of items that are perfect for fans both young and old. The collection includes everything from jewelry and hoodies to plush and toys.

Coco centers around the story of young Miguel who dreams of becoming a famous musician much like his idol, Erneso de la Cruz. Unfortunately, Miguel’s family has banned music from the home for several generations. This only pushes the boy towards seeking his dream. Along the way, he finds himself in the Land of the Dead, a colorful and vibrant world where he meets Hector. The two embark on an adventure to to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

Because the film pays homage to Mexican culture including Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), expect to find bold colors in the merchandise available. I enjoyed seeing how each item built in traditional designs and elements of the holiday. Marigolds, for example, serve as the honorary flower that guides spirits to their ofrendas, altars created by the living for Day of the Dead. You’ll notice them in several of the new pieces including clothing and even as an accent in one of the Alex and Ani bangles available.

I also really enjoyed seeing some of the ceramics available like this mug and ornament. They really bring the fun of the movie out. This collectible pin even uses a catch phrase from the film. It is sure to be popular with fans.

For kids, you’ll find vivid plush and also “Skullectables,” a series of action figures based on the film. There’s even a Land of the Dead collector’s case to hold them all. I also fell in love with the Miguel and Hector dolls. They are very detailed and fun to see.
