I know what you are thinking; we normally do our behind-the-scenes thing on Sundays. Well, yes, but every now and again, something pops up that I simply can not wait that long to show you! This time, we are crossing over between two of my favorite things: behind-the-scenes and the magic of Disney’s voice actors!
Have you ever fallen in love with an animated Disney movie where no matter how well-known the actor behind the character is, they somehow bring a unique performance that allows the character to own that voice? I noticed this as a child, learning of some famous names behind the characters I loved with complete surprise. In some cases, their performances have been so brilliantly unique to the character that I couldn’t make the connection at all. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed the rare opportunity I have had to see these brilliant creators in action. Today, I wanted to show you this new clip of Mufasa: The Lion King, where you can spend just a couple of minutes seeing the actors perform side by side with their on-screen characters. Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
