As of the time of this post, tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party have sold out for the first four nights. That’s right, August 9th, 13th, 16th, and 20th, 2024, have completely sold out.
We recommend that guests buy their tickets the minute they decide on the date they’d like to attend as the tickets sell out quickly. I find it interesting that so many folks got quite annoyed as Halloween party dates started creeping closer to the beginning of August. There were a lot of happy people, if I remember correctly, who would be able to enjoy the Halloween party without taking their kids out of school for a Walt Disney World vacation. For many families, missing school for something like a trip to Disney isn’t an option, so they simply weren’t able to take part in the Halloween festivities. Those people were the happiest.
On the other hand, many folks still say they feel that August is simply too early in the year to celebrate Halloween. Don’t look at me – I do as Disney does and break out the Halloween décor in August. Ahem. I do not, however, typically attend this event with my family in August. The one time I chose to attend an early party, all of my chocolate from trick-or-treating was melted by the time I got back to my resort. I think we can all agree that the weather in Central Florida in August is tough to deal with; even in shorts and a tank top, let alone a Halloween costume. When you add a costume, makeup, and candy that has a tendency to melt, it’s pretty unbearable, in my opinion.
Here’s the thing, I don’t think people hate the idea of August Halloween parties at Disney as much as they claim to. The first four nights of the party, plus Halloween night, are all sold out and the party doesn’t start for another week. These August dates are far more popular than I would’ve ever guessed, and they seem to be getting more popular each year. I think that I’d be less surprised to see the last four dates sold out as opposed to the first four.
Are you an August Halloween party-goer or do you prefer to wait until at least mid-October to attend?
