If you’ve been to Walt Disney World over the past few years, chances are you’ve seen a scrim wall up somewhere! Usually this just means new paint or repairs but every now and then it’s a sign of new things to come. The entire front of the Plaza Restaurant on the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. is currently completely covered. It might look closed but rest assured it is still open and besides the lack of view, there are no changes to the inside of the restaurant.
We asked a cast member if they knew what updates were happening and it sounds like they were just as surprised as us to see the restaurant completely boarded up. It sounds like there are plenty of rumors going around, even from the cast working there, but only time will tell!
Even though it’s probably just the space needed to paint the exterior of the building, how fabulous would it be to have an outside dining option at the Plaza Restaurant? For now, we’ll keep dreaming and hope the changes come soon since this is a highly trafficked area.
