Disney has a holiday film in the works focused on St. Nick’s daughter that Bill Hader may be signing on for.
The project, currently titled “Nicole”, will center on Santa Claus’s daughter taking on her father’s duties. Father Christmas is retiring and leaving the job to his son, who gets cold feet before his first Christmas as Santa, and Nicole must step up to the task.
It was reported in January that Anna Kendrick was in talks to play the protagonist; Bill Hader is currently in talks to play her brother. Hader is a Saturday Night Live alum with 10 years under his belt, who has recently served as a leading man(Train Wreck, The Skeleton Twins) and voice-actor(The Power Rangers, The BFG).
Marc Lawrence(Miss Congeniality) will serve as writer/director on the film. Production is likely to commence this coming fall.
Unrelated to “Nicole”, Disney is also working on another holiday project under the current title “Dashing Through the Snow”, set to star Kevin Hart.
