Change in Security Coming April 3 to the Magic Kingdom

According to the Orlando Sentinel, starting April 3, 2017, guests parking at the Magic Kingdom parking lot will “go through metal detectors and get bags checked at the Transportation and Ticket Center.” The Ticket and Transportation Center (or the TTC) is the hub at which guests arriving by car have transportation options to access the Magic Kingdom.

Guests will go through the security checkpoint at the Ticket and Transportation Center before they can board either the monorail, or the ferry boats. Guests arriving on a Disney resort bus will still go through the bag check and metal detectors in front of the Magic Kingdom, although new security tents have been put in place closer to the bus stop.

As part of this change Disney’s Contemporary, Disney’s Grand Floridian and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resorts will all have security bag checks and metal detectors at the monorail stations in those hotels.
