Cisco Partnering with Disney’s StudioLAB Division

According to Variety, Cisco recently announced that they are teaming up with Disney’s relatively new StudioLAB division. The news was revealed at Cisco’s XR On the Bay conference in San Jose, California on June 26.

David Ward — senior vice president, chief technology officer, and chief architect at Cisco — said, “We get to work with their Imagineers. We get to work with their creatives.” Together StudioLAB and Cisco engineers will be working on several topics like data delivery, security, and the use of collaboration software. Cisco also wants to help Disney improve their use of the cloud.

Disney Studios technology innovation group vice president Benjamin Havey said of the partnership, “We are very pleased to welcome Cisco as a StudioLAB Innovation Partner, as we combine the best of Silicon Valley and Hollywood to help our storytellers tell their very best stories. Through this partnership, we can push the boundaries of how content can be created and consumed.”
