Demolition Permits Have Been Filed for DisneyQuest Location

The decision to get rid of DisneyQuest and replaced it with something new was set in stone a while back. According to permits filed recently, DisneyQuest’s stones are now ready to be unset.

A Notice of Commencement regarding the Disney Springs attraction’s address was filed today. These notices don’t typically provide an extensive amount of detail, but the description of the construction to be performed is “DEMO OF STRUCTURE AND ADDITIONAL WORK”, and the work is being authorized by Walt Disney Imagineering.

DisneyQuest only just closed its doors to the public on July 3rd, yet it seems we can expect progress to be made on the site in the relatively near future. Taking at least some of that space will be the NBA Experience. Disney Parks Blog had previously described this new project as “a one-of-a-kind basketball-themed experience featuring hands-on activities that put guests of all ages right in the middle of NBA game action,” saying it will offer, “immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences, as well as a restaurant and a retail store.”
