Dust off those pin trading lanyards as cast member to guest pin trading officially returns to Walt Disney World starting April 7, 2024!
Last week, we shared a thread from the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies forum on DISboards.com, where posters discussed the return of this popular activity. Prior to the pandemic shutdowns four years ago, if a guest spotted a pin on a cast member’s lanyard, they could ask to trade it for a pin from their own pin collection. That activity was suspended during the pandemic and has been unavailable all this time.
Of course, there are a few rules that guests should keep in mind as they set out to do some pin trading during their visit.
Only official Disney pins may be traded. The main criteria when judging whether a pin is tradable or not (although other factors may be considered) is that the metal pin bears a ‘©Disney’ mark on the back, representing an official Disney event, place, location, character or icon. A Disney Cast Member may determine not to trade a pin in their discretion.
We are so excited about the return of cast member to guest pin trading, and we’d love to know if you are too, so let us know in the comments section below!
