Disney CEO Bob Iger Confirms Avatar ‘Land’ Coming to Disneyland

Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke Tuesday at a Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, and he mostly discussed Disney+ and ESPN, there was a good bit of talk about the Disney theme parks. You might remember that an Avatar-themed ‘experience’ was discussed last year, and we haven’t heard mention of it since.

We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California.

Iger also stated that Disney has thousands of acres of land to develop. He mentioned that Disney could “build seven new full lands” around the world. Surprisingly, he said that the company has the ability to increase the size of Disneyland in California by 50%, which makes us wonder if there could be an update coming on the Disneyland Forward project we heard about nearly three years ago.

There was no mention of which theme park this new land would be added to at this point, so we want to hear your thoughts on it. Where do you think an Avatar-themed land would fit in at the Disneyland Resort?
