Disney Channel Greenlights New Show About Kids Who Use Crowdsourcing to Make Decisions

The newest series to receive the go-ahead from the Disney Channel focuses on a brother and sister who use the opinions of their internet followers to make real life decisions. Coop and Cami Ask the World follows Cooper and Cameron Wrather, portrayed respectively by Dakota Lotus and Ruby Rose Turner, siblings who crowdsource the advice of millions of subscribers to Cooper’s online channel, Would You Wrather.

The live-action sitcom targets children in the 6 to 12-years-old demographic.

In addition to Lotus and Turner, the cast will include Olivia Sanabia (Just Add Magic) as older sister Charlotte; Paxton Booth (The Toy Box) as the duo’s little brother Ollie; Albert Tsai (Dr. Ken) as Coop’s best friend Fred; and Rebecca Metz (Better Things) as their mother.

Show creators Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin (The Haunted Hathaways) will serve as executive producers and showrunners for Coop and Cami.

Executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide Adam Bonnet said of the pair, “We’ve wanted to work with Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin for a long time and they’ve done a great job of incorporating crowdsourcing into a relatable family sitcom that’s perfect for our digital-native audience.”

Coop and Cami Ask the World is currently in production with a Fall premiere expected.
