As required, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has filed a response to the state-level lawsuit brought against them by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD). In the 55-page answer, Disney responds to each claim made by the CFTOD, point by point, paragraph by paragraph.
Disney goes on to outline twelve affirmative defenses before establishing a countersuit. There are nine counts noted in the counterclaim, many of which cite violations of the Florida Constitution, similar to the Federal case filed by Disney against the District back in May 2023, which mentions breaches of the US Constitution.
No future details have been released regarding the timeline of the state-level case, but we will share them here as they become available.
