Hey friends, today we are looking beyond the parks to something truly special happening in Los Angeles, where a bit of Disney magic is helping bring a community back to life. After the devastating Altadena wildfires earlier this year, Disney Imagineers have stepped in to help rebuild Charles White Park, a cherished local space that suffered significant damage. It is all part of The Walt Disney Company’s larger support for relief efforts, and it is so lovely to see that spark of creativity being shared in the real world.

What makes this project extra heartwarming is that Imagineers are bringing the same playful spirit we know from the parks into the new designs. Plans include an upgraded playground inspired by the natural beauty of Altadena, complete with features modeled after Deodar Cedar pinecones, along with slides, bridges, and boulders that encourage imaginative play. A brand new splash pad and an amphitheater for performances are also in the works, blending fun with community connection. Even better, the team is thoughtfully preserving surviving elements of the original park to honor what the neighborhood has always loved.

There is a personal touch to all of this as well, with some Imagineers involved in the rebuild having lost their own homes in the fires. Their commitment gives the project a beautiful sense of heart and resilience. Disney is also helping the community celebrate its traditions by supporting the Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony and donating over 1,000 toys for the annual drive, along with bringing Disney Field Days to local students, featuring favorite characters from Pixar, Marvel, and more.

Seeing this kind of pixie dust appear in public spaces feels especially meaningful. It is a reminder that the imagination and joy we associate with Disney can bring comfort and hope far beyond the parks. We love to see it and cannot wait to follow the progress of this newly reimagined community space as it comes to life.
āLos Angeles has been home to The Walt Disney Company since its founding more than a century ago, which is why we felt a special responsibility to help this community rebuild in the aftermath of the devastating wildfires earlier this year.ā
āIām incredibly proud of our Imagineers who are volunteering their time and talents to help reimagine cherished public spaces like Charles White Park. Their work is not only a testament to Disneyās creative spirit, but also to our deep commitment to our neighbors throughout this region. We hope this effort brings comfort, joy, and a sense of renewal to the Altadena community for years to come.ā
