Walt Disney World has just shared a behind-the-scenes look at the new holiday decor that guests can expect to see at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park this holiday season.
Guests who visit Discovery Island will find a celebration of winter that’s been hand-crafted by the community of artists who live here. White holiday decorations and animal-inspired luminaries will line the rooftops, glowing in the evenings and during the day, artisan-sculpted puppets including reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more can be seen.
The Tree of Life will awaken nightly with wintry tales and a holiday-inspired musical score – coming to life with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays.
Guests will be able to see how the residents of Anandapur decorate the theatre district in celebration of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India, when they visit the Asia section of the park. Glowing flowers, lanterns, and more will brighten the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage, home to authentic cultural performances.
The Africa section of the park will offer new decor and DinoLand, U.S.A. will add a Truck-O-Saurus that will play holiday tunes. Guests can also find some of their favorite Characters dressed in their best holiday décor and accessories.
The holiday spirit will also make its way to Pandora – The World of Avatar with a display of kitschy holiday décor at Pongu Pongu combining vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.
