If you’ve been waiting for Disney to open 2023 bookings, today’s your lucky day. But there’s more than just upcoming tickets and resort stays in today’s release; there’s news about Disney Genie+ and Early Park Entry. Let’s dig in.
It’s just been announced that 2023 Walt Disney World tickets, hotel stays, and packages will be available for booking beginning June 8th, 2022. Also part of the announcement was the mention that beginning June 8th, guests booking a Walt Disney World 2022 or 2023 package (tickets plus a resort stay) can no longer purchase Disney Genie+ in advance of their trip as an addition to their package. All guests wishing to purchase Disney Genie+ must now do so via the My Disney Experience app, one day at a time, on the day of their visit. If you’ve already made Disney Genie+ bookings as part of a 2022 Disney package, your bookings will still be valid. Also, please note that this change only applies to Walt Disney World, not Disneyland.
It’s also worth noting that Disney continues to hold to the thought that Disney Genie+ is working as intended if it allows a guest to use 2-3 Lightning Lanes per park day. And, in today’s announcement, it was stated that Genie+ is subject to availability. In my mind, these are two good things to keep in mind when considering the purchase of Genie+.
Also included in today’s release is the news that Early Park Entry will remain in place for guests staying at a Disney resort through 2023. Guests at these resorts may access the Disney theme parks in advance of the posted park opening.

Deni loves all things Disney, and, in 2013, moved to the Magic from Maryland. Walt Disney World is her happy place, and she loves getting to share it with others. Deni and her husband of almost 26 years have 2 grown children. Her favorite WDW snack? A Mickey Bar, of course. Is there any other?!
