The bridge was built to carry temporary pipes, among other things, while upgrades are being done to shops and restaurants in the area. With the bridge in place, those shops and restaurants should be able to stay open throughout construction.

The bridge, which was placed between the French Market restaurant and the Disneyland Railroad, will be removed when construction is complete.
