Disneyland character allegedly injures child

An 8-year-old boy was allegedly injured recently at Disneyland by a hug from Pluto and his mother says that Disneyland Resort officials are trying to downplay the incident.

On Thursday, the boy walked up to Pluto to get a hug at a meet and greet in Mickey’s Toontown.  The website TMZ has posted a video that shows the boy crying immediately following the encounter.

The boy and his mother were told to head to the first aid station, but his mother felt that the boy was in too much pain to walk there.  A nurse was summoned, but the mother claims the nurse told her that there was no injury.

The boy’s mother requested a wheelchair, but the request was allegedly refused.

Finally, the mother demanded an ambulance and the boy was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for severe muscle strain.

The mother reports that Disney officials visited the hospital and apologized, also offering to pay the hospital bill.
