New Mother-Daughter Disneyland Window Unveiled for Leota Toombs & Kim Irvine

Disneyland has just unveiled a new window for Main Street U.S.A., honoring a mother-daughter pairing –and two Disney Legends– for the first time ever.

From realms beyond, a sign aligned, a lasting mark, two names enshrined. On Main Street U.S.A.’s windows, proud and fine, the spirits reveal Leota Toombs and Kim Irvine.

Who are Leota and Kim?

Leota Toombs (1925-1991) was a Disney Imagineer and model who became best known as the face of Madame Leota in Haunted Mansion attractions.

  • She worked at WED Enterprises (now Walt Disney Imagineering), contributing to sculpting and model work.
  • For The Haunted Mansion, her face was filmed and projected inside the crystal ball to create the floating, talking head of Madame Leota during the séance scene. (The voice heard in the attraction was performed by Eleanor Audley, not Toombs)

Her likeness became one of the most recognizable visuals in Disney park history. She was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2009.

Kim Irvine (born 1950) is a longtime Disney Imagineer and the daughter of Leota Toombs.

She served as Executive Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering’s Anaheim office. After a 55-year career overseeing the design and care of Disneyland Resort, she retired in June 2025.

  • Kim has worked on numerous park projects, including park updates and refurbishments. She has been especially closely involved with maintaining and updating The Haunted Mansion across Disney parks.
  • She provided the face for “Little Leota,” the smaller ghostly figure seen at the end of the attraction, replacing the original imagery used in earlier versions. (You can spot a newer version of this Little Leota as you exit The Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny!)

Kim will be honored as a Disney Legend at the upcoming D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

New Window for Main Street

Fittingly, the new window is located above the Crystal Arts Shop at Disneyland Park. Designed with art nouveau stylings and crystal balls, and honoring these two iconic ladies’ names, the window also reads: Crystal Ball Glass Co.
