Disneyland Resort has added a fun new option for Disney pin collectors. Mystery pin vending machines are now available at select locations.
The machines sell sealed capsules for $18 each. Each capsule contains one randomly selected Disney pin.
You will not know which character you received until you open the capsule. That surprise makes each purchase part of the collecting experience.
Where to Find the Mystery Pin Vending Machines
You can currently find the new mystery pin vending machines at three Disneyland Resort locations:
- Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff at Disney California Adventure
- San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure
- Disney’s Pin Traders at Downtown Disney
The Downtown Disney location offers an easy option for collectors. You can visit Downtown Disney without entering either theme park.
Guests with park admission can also check the machines inside Disney California Adventure.
Which Disney Characters Are Available?
The first Disneyland mystery pin vending machine collection features 15 Disney characters and designs. The lineup includes popular favorites and some unusual characters.
You can find Hatbox Ghost, Queen of Hearts, Aurora, Dumbo, Simba, Meeko, Winnie the Pooh, and Hades in the Disneyland mystery pin collection.
Other designs include Sir Hiss, Mama Odie, Flower, and Dopey. The collection also features the Footstool from Beauty and the Beast.
Fans can also look for Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid. A platypus inspired by “it’s a small world” completes the collection.
The wide character selection makes these Disneyland mystery pins fun for both casual visitors and longtime Disney pin collectors. Since each vending machine capsule contains a random design, every purchase brings a new surprise.
Watch for Chaser Pins
The Disneyland mystery pin vending machines also include special chaser pins. These designs appear less often than the regular pins, making them more exciting for collectors.
After opening your mystery capsule, check the back of your pin. Regular Disneyland mystery pins have a white marking. Chaser pins have a blue marking.
Finding a chaser adds an extra surprise to your Disneyland mystery pin hunt. It can also make the pin a fun addition to your Disney collection.
How Much Do the Pins Cost?
Each mystery capsule costs $18. You receive one randomly selected pin with each purchase.
Since the designs are random, you may receive duplicates. However, duplicate pins can become useful for Disney pin trading.
Collectors who want the entire set should also plan their budget. Buying several capsules can become expensive quickly.
Are Disneyland Mystery Pin Vending Machine Worth Collecting?
The new mystery pin vending machines give Disney fans another way to collect pins. They also make the buying experience more interactive.
The $18 price may seem high for one mystery pin. However, the collection includes several unusual characters.
For collectors, that variety adds to the appeal. You might find a favorite character, discover a chaser, or get a pin you can trade later.
If you want to try the new Disneyland mystery pin vending machines, check Disney California Adventure or Disney’s Pin Traders in Downtown Disney.
The biggest part of the experience is simple: you never know which Disney pin you will get until you open the capsule.
