As part of the Walt Disney Company’s renewed commitment to environmental protection that was announced last month, the Disneyland Resort has put in place several new policies meant to reduce plastic waste.
Beginning this week, plastic straws will be available by request only and plastic lids for adult cold beverages will no longer be available. Guests with disabilities who require a straw or lid will be accommodated.
Also this week, plastic bags will now be offered to guests by request only.
Disney plans to remove ALL single-use plastic straws and stirrers by mid-2019, which will amount to a “reduction of more than 175 million straws and 13 million stirrers annually.”
