So far this year, Disneyland Resort Cast Members have contributed to the Disney VoluntEARS Community Fund a total of $400,000 benefiting 84 local organizations.
Cast Members contribute $1 per week to the fund and can nominate worthy charities in the area to receive a grant of up to $5,000.
One of the most recent recipients was the Canyon Rim Elementary School, who will use their $5,000 grant to upgrade technology in their classrooms and STEAM labs. Canyon Rim was nominated by Jason Smith, director of Planning and Industrial Engineering, who also happens to be a parent of two students at the school.
Smith, along with Disneyland Ambassador Justin Rapp, made the presentation to the school.
