Over the years, Disney VoluntEARS have built playgrounds in communities all over the country. Last weekend, high school volunteers from the Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers program, the Anaheim Family YMCA, Disney VoluntEARS from the Disneyland Resort, and other community volunteers worked together to build the 10th Disney-sponsored KaBoom! playground in Anaheim (and the 80th nationwide).
The new playground in Pearson Park was inspired by the drawings of neighbor children, and with the help of the 300 volunteers, was completed in just 6 hours.
The 35 Shining Stars from the Dreamers & Doers program were able to participate on a playground build for the first time on this project. Outgoing President of the Disneyland Resort Michael Colglazier praised the outstanding high school students, “It is such a thrill to see our Dreamers and Doers working side-by-side with our team of Disney VoluntEARS for this event. These two programs bring out the best in our cast and our community, and leave a lasting impression on our neighborhoods.”
