UPDATE 7/26/2023: Disneyland announced that Fantasmic! will stay on hiatus until spring 2024. They have also confirmed that the battle scene between Maleficent and Sorcerer Mickey will be new and will not include the dragon.

Our goal is to always deliver the best possible show for our guests. With that in mind, we are planning the return of ‘Fantasmic!’ with exciting new magic in spring 2024. As teams continue work on the show, we have launched nightly entertainment on the Rivers of America this summer and we are working on even more exciting entertainment offerings for our guests later this year.

The Disneyland Resort has announced that they have decided to put its “Fantasmic!” show on hiatus through at least Labor Day, 2023.

They’ve stated that they are evaluating the show and exploring opportunities to add “new magic and touches” for guests.

Those guests who had a previously-booked a “Fantasmic!” Dining Package will be notified of the hiatus. More information will be coming soon on alternate experiences for guests this summer.

Last month during the show, the Maleficent dragon caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames, substantially damaging the set piece.
