Disney fans who can’t make it to D23 this year won’t have to rely on social media updates to follow one of the biggest presentations of the weekend. Horizons: A Carousel of Progress will stream live on Disney+ on Saturday, August 15, beginning at 7 p.m. PT.
Neil Patrick Harris will host the Disney Experiences presentation from the Honda Center, where we’re expecting updates on projects already underway at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, and other Disney destinations around the world.
If you watched the big Disney Experiences presentation at D23 in 2024, you know how much news can come out of one of these evenings. That showcase gave us our first look at a huge slate of projects, many of which have since moved well beyond the concept-art stage. Two years later, Disney says this presentation will spend some time showing us where those projects stand now.
That means we can expect new artwork and renderings, first looks, project updates, behind-the-scenes stories, and details about how some of Disney’s biggest upcoming experiences are taking shape. And knowing D23, I’m sure there’ll be a surprise or two along the way.
Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum will be part of the presentation, along with a pretty impressive group from Walt Disney Imagineering. Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, is among those scheduled to appear. Imagineers representing Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Disney Cruise Line will also take part, including Chris Beatty, Jason Grandt, Caroline May, Michael Hundgen, Emily O’Brien, Claire Weiss, Ali Rubinstein, and Brent Strong.
Rather than simply running through announcement after announcement, Disney says the evening will include conversations with the Imagineers who are actually working on these projects. There will also be performances and other special moments mixed into the presentation.
