Fans respond to rumor of Doc McStuffins not being renewed

Fans are worried that the Doc McStuffins, the popular Disney Junior show about an African-American girl who is a doctor to toys, may not be renewed.

Nothing regarding the show has been discussed or announced by Disney, but the website RenewCancelTV shows that the premiere date of Season 5 is just showing as TBA: pending renewal, when other Disney Junior shows all have their start dates listed. The site “The Root” has started a hashtag, #RenewDocMcStuffins, for the show, hoping to bring this to Disney’s attention and get more information about the show’s future.

The Root also mentions a New York Times article from 2014, which at that time, said Doc McStuffins merchandise already had $500 million in sales and was the “best-selling toy line based on an African-American character.”

Season 4 of Doc McStuffins is scheduled to begin July 30, 2016.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
