Firefighters were called to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Thursday, May 7, to help 12 people off Kali River Rapids when the ride stalled. Reedy Creek Emergency Services was called at 1:21pm and had everyone off the ride by 2:00pm.
Bo Jones, assistant fire chief, said, “No one was in jeopardy or in a dangerous situation.” He said there was “some sort of malfunction on the ride,” but wasn’t sure what caused it.
Cast members were checking the ride for safety before reopening it for guests.
