The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend is back for a second year of spooky fun in 2025, and this year’s theme is a total scream! Taking place from September 4 – 7, 2025, runners can choose from a 5K hosted by Ursula, a 10K starring Cruella De Vil, or a half marathon led by Maleficent. Want an extra challenge? Take on the Pain and Panic Challenge, which combines the 10K and half marathon for one wickedly fun race weekend.
The best part? You’ll score a unique themed medal for every race you finish. And if you complete the Challenge, there’s a bonus medal waiting for you, too! runDisney has just shared the first look at this year’s medals; take a peek!
Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon
On September 7, slay 13.1 miles through Disneyland Resort, Disney California Adventure® Park and surrounding areas as Maleficent tries to curse it all.
Chills & Thrills Challenge
Finish the 10K and half marathon for a total of 19.3 miles and receive a bonus Challenge medal! Just don’t let Pain and Panic (from Hercules) get in your way.
Complete both the Disneyland Halloween 10K and Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon races on pace and earn:

Disneyland Halloween 5K
On September 5, slink through Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure Park for 3.1 miles with salty Ursula, the sea witch, as your host with the most (limbs).
Disneyland Halloween 10K
On September 6, ready your paws fur 6.2 miles through Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure Park hosted by the madcap Cruella De Vil.
runDisney Kids Races
Arrrgh younger athletes can get into ship shape as they run toward a pirate’s life with Captain Hook.
Every child nine or younger who participates in the runDisney Kids Races goes home a winner with a finisher medallion designed for the tiniest of runners. Encourage your child to join in during this fun-filled weekend. There’s even a Diaper Dash for crawlers!
runDisney Kids Races are open to children up to age 9. Kids Races will be broken down by the following age groups:
- Ages 0-1
- Ages 1-3
- Ages 4-6
- Ages 7-9
