Four-year-old Brother Sings “Remember Me” from ‘Coco’ to His Sister Who Passed Away

According to BuzzFeed, Samir and Stephanie Deais posted a video of their four-year-old son Alex singing “Remember Me” from Coco to a picture of his sister who passed away last May, on what would have been her first birthday.

Alex’s sister Ava Lynn had a kidney condition known as hydronephrosis, which sadly took her life. The Deais family from San Antonio, Texas used the Pixar film Coco to cope, and it also is helping answer young Alex’s questions about his sister.

In the video that has now gone viral (with 1.8 million views and counting) you can hear Alex sing the lyrics, “Remember me / Though I have to travel far / Remember me / Don’t let it make you cry / For even if I’m far away I hold you in my heart / I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart / Though I have to travel far / Remember me.”

The Deais family has been astounded by the outreach and support they’ve received since the video was posted.
