Disneyland Resort guests have a brand-new dining destination to experience, as Earl of Sandwich officially celebrated the grand opening of its new permanent flagship location in the Downtown Disney District today.
On the morning of July 15, 2026, the Earl of Sandwich Grand Opening Ceremony was held at the Downtown Disney District.
The ceremony was attended by Michele Mary, Disneyland Resort Ambassador; Jason Smith, Vice President of Disneyland Resort Hotels & Downtown Disney District; Robert Earl, Founder of Earl of Sandwich; and Luke Montagu, the 12th Earl of Sandwich.
To conclude the celebration, Mickey Mouse made a special appearance and joined the distinguished guests for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. As colorful confetti filled the air, everyone celebrated the grand opening of the new permanent flagship location.
Earl of Sandwich pays tribute to the art of the sandwich with an extensive menu featuring signature hot sandwiches served on freshly baked artisan bread, along with handcrafted wraps, fresh salads, artisan soups, and more. The story of the sandwich dates back to 1762, when John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, is said to have placed meat between two slices of bread so he could continue playing cards without leaving the table. More than 250 years later, the Sandwich family continues that tradition. Today, Luke Montagu, the 12th Earl of Sandwich, proudly carries on his family’s legacy, while Earl of Sandwich continues serving handcrafted sandwiches made with fresh, premium ingredients.
The new Earl of Sandwich is now open daily at the Downtown Disney District from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
