Well, that didn’t take long.
Ticket sales for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party just opened to all guests today, and Halloween night is already gone. October 31st is officially sold out at the Magic Kingdom event.
That date is always the toughest one to get. Still, seeing it disappear on day one tells you exactly how this season is shaping up.
If you’ve been watching the Halloween season at Walt Disney World over the last few years, this isn’t surprising. Fall has turned into a full-blown travel season. The parks start rolling out Halloween décor in August and the party kicks off not long after. For many families, this is the sweet spot. Crowds feel manageable compared to peak holidays, kids are back in school, and the weather, while still hot, starts to ease up a bit.
And the party itself is a big draw. You’re getting trick-or-treat trails all over Magic Kingdom, exclusive character meet-and-greets you won’t find during daytime hours, the Boo-To-You parade, fireworks, themed snacks, and a park that looks completely different after dark. People plan their entire Walt Disney World vacations around it.
That’s why Halloween night is always the first to sell out. It’s the novelty of being there on the actual holiday. Costumes feel more “right.” The energy is different. Everyone knows it.
If you missed out on October 31st, you still have options. Most nights offer the same entertainment and atmosphere. But here’s the part people don’t love hearing. The longer you wait, the fewer choices you’ll have. Early October weekends and dates closer to Halloween are usually next to sell out.
This is one of those parties where Disney doesn’t need to hype it. Guests are doing that on their own just by showing up and buying tickets faster every year – despite the per-person ticket prices.
If you’re planning to go, don’t sit on it.
