Two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe are on their way to Batuu.
Disney has confirmed that Han Solo and Leia Organa will begin appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland starting April 29, adding two of the most beloved characters in the saga to Batuu.
That’s a big shift for the land.
Since opening, Galaxy’s Edge has mostly stayed within the sequel-era timeline, with characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca driving the story. Bringing Han and Leia into the mix signals that Disney is loosening that structure and giving guests more of the characters they’ve been asking for.
And honestly, it makes perfect sense.
For a lot of guests, Han and Leia are Star Wars. Seeing them in the parks, especially in a setting like Batuu, is going to hit a different kind of nostalgia than some of the current character interactions.
Disney hasn’t shared full details yet on how these appearances will work. It’s not clear if they’ll be roaming the land, part of a set schedule, or tied into a bigger entertainment moment. But based on how Galaxy’s Edge has evolved, hopefully we can expect something a little more flexible than a traditional meet-and-greet.
The timing is also interesting. Late April is a busy stretch at Disneyland, leading right into Star Wars Day on May 4, so this addition is obviously very intentional.
This is one of those updates that fans have been asking for since day one. And now it’s actually happening.
Who’s excited?!
