Hawai‘i to Raise Transient Tax: What Disney Aulani Visitors Need to Know

The State of Hawai‘i charges a Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) for hotels, short-term vacation rentals, and timeshares. The current State of Hawai‘i TAT of 10.25% will increase to 11% beginning January 1, 2026. The 3% City & County of Honolulu TAT and 4.712% Hawaii General Excise Tax remain unchanged at this time.

Please keep the following in mind when booking a stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa:

Room-Only

Due to technology limitations, the updated 11% TAT rate will not be included in the final booking price for room-only reservations until it takes effect on January 1, 2026. A notification about the updated 2026 TAT rate will appear when booking an Aulani vacation. The 10.25% tax rate will be charged through the end of 2025, even for stays in 2026.

For 2026 room-only stays that were booked before January 1, 2026, you will see the increased TAT on your resort folio, and the additional 0.75% will be charged upon check-in or checkout.
