Hearing Date Set for Oversight District vs. Disney Lawsuit

During a meeting last week, a court hearing date of July 2, 2023, was set for the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District vs. Disney lawsuit. According to the meeting notes, the hearing will begin at 2:00 pm Eastern and is set to last no longer than an hour. Honorable Margaret H. Schreiber is presiding.

On a related note, Judge Allen C. Winsor, who is presiding over the Disney vs. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lawsuit, set initial deadlines for that case as follows:

  • DeSantis’ deadline to file motions to dismiss is 6/26/2023
  • Rule 26 Meeting Report due by 6/27/2023
  • Disney must respond to any motions to dismiss no later than 7/26/2023
  • DeSantis must reply no later than 8/9/2023.
