Sadly, Jon Landau passed away Friday after a 16-month battle with cancer, according to a Disney spokesperson. Landau’s son Jamie Landau confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter.
Landau, an American film producer, won an Academy Award for producing James Cameron’s Titanic (1997). He was also nominated for Cameron’s Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). As of 2024, these three movies are among the four highest-grossing films ever.
