According to the Disney Parks Blog, “Legend has it that Captain Mary Oceanear, a treasure-hunting heroine, travelled across the sea collecting unique artifacts before she became stranded at Typhoon Lagoon many years ago by a rogue storm.”
Guests will ride treasure rafts on the two-minute attraction and will “ascend to the top of the attraction before plunging into a white-water adventure where they will be able to spot some of the treasures Captain Oceanear gathered from around the world.”
Faron Kelley, vice president of ESPN Wide World of Sports, Disney’s water parks, and miniature golf, said, “We’re thrilled to add to our menu of great guest experiences at Disney’s Water Parks with Miss Fortune Falls. We believe this new attraction will quickly become a favorite with our guests, who are always looking for new ways to enjoy our parks.”
