
National Geographic will take guests on an adventure as they let guests explore the world around them for the first time at the D23 Expo.
The new Disney division is scheduled to bring celebrities, explorers, and furry friends to their booth on the show floor and at two panels they’ll be hosting.
Rock climber Alex Honnold will pay a visit to the Nat Geo booth on August 23rd from 1:00pm to 2:00pm to sign his new book. Honnold appeared in the Academy Award winning film Free Solo, which featured his climb up the 3200 foot face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope.
On August 24th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, Dr. Jan Pol from the Nat Geo WILD series The Incredible Dr. Pol will be on hand with some four-legged guests.
Sue Aikens from the award winning series Life Below Zero will share her tales of life in Alaska, take pictures, and sign autographs from 11:00am to 12:00pm on August 25th.
National Geographic will also take guests under the sea with an experience called Beneath the Blue, which will send them on a journey to explore the oceans, plus learn more about the impact of single-use plastic.
On August 24th at 10:00am on Stage 28, Nat Geo will present WOMEN OF IMPACT: Meet the Nat Geo Explorers Changing the World. Scheduled to appear are Erika Bergman, a submersible pilot and founder of a girls’ underwater camp; Lilly Sedaghat, a storyteller and Planet or Plastic ambassador; and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, a large carnivore expert. The women will give guests a glimpse at what it takes to be an explorer.
Brain Games is heading back to National Geographic, and on August 25th at 12:30pm in the D23 Expo Arena, Expo guests can get their first look at the reboot, with Power Up Your Brain With Keegan-Michael Key. The host will have guests playing some mind-bending, interactive challenges, plus mentalist Lior Suchard is set to deliver a mind-blowing experience.
The D23 Expo will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 23rd through the 25th.
