Yesterday during the Daytona 500 the extended Cars 3 trailer was released. This trailer highlighted the “next generation” of cars that Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is trying to keep up with. The plot of the movie will focus on the fact that the sport of race car driving has changed, and after a horrible crash Lightning McQueen will have to help a young race technician named Cruz Ramirez in her own journey to win.

The Disney-Pixar animated film is set to be released June 16, 2017, and will feature “the voices of NASCAR drivers and personalities.” The film is directed by Brian Fee known best for directing Cars 2 and Ratatouille.
