D23 just gave Disney fans another reason to start counting down the days until next month’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim.
Disney has officially pulled back the curtain on this year’s show floor, and it’s sounding like it’s going to be pretty fabulous. The Anaheim Convention Center will be packed with immersive experiences, exclusive shopping, live demonstrations, celebrity appearances, and interactive exhibits inspired by just about every corner of The Walt Disney Company.
If you’re attending this year’s event, don’t expect to simply walk from booth to booth. Disney is really embracing fun and exciting experiences!
Marvel fans will once again step inside the Time Variance Authority during a brand-new walkthrough inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over at Lucasfilm, guests can see costumes and props from across the Star Wars galaxy, chat with filmmakers during special presentations, and even catch an early screening of LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
Animation fans have plenty to look forward to as well. Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios are teaming up for a pavilion celebrating Pixar’s 40th anniversary, complete with filmmaker signings, artist demonstrations, giveaways, and sneak peeks at upcoming films including Frozen 3, Incredibles 3, Gatto, and Disney’s Hexed.
Disney Parks fans won’t want to miss the returning Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, which Disney says will be its largest ever. The Walt Disney Archives is also bringing a brand-new exhibit called Uncrated, giving guests a rare look inside the archives with iconic props, costumes, and other pieces of Disney history that are rarely seen by the public.
The Disney+ and Hulu pavilion is getting a major upgrade this year, too. Along with a new 4D theater experience, fans can expect themed photo opportunities inspired by Percy Jackson and the Olympians, VisionQuest, Only Murders in the Building, Camp Rock 3, The Simpsons, and more.
Outside the major pavilions, the show floor will be filled with plenty of reasons to slow down. Bluey and Bingo will be meeting fans by reservation. Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and Adventures by Disney will all have a presence. Disney Music Group is bringing interactive experiences, while the Disney VoluntEARS pavilion will give guests the chance to assemble thousands of kits for charities throughout the weekend.
Of course, shopping is a huge part of any D23 event, and this year looks no different. Returning favorites like Loungefly, Disney Lorcana, Pandora, Crocs, Hasbro, Topps, Little Words Project, and several other brands will debut exclusive merchandise available only during the event.
This announcement follows this week’s reveal of D23’s panel lineup and comes just after we got all the details about D23 Day at Disneyland Resort. With the event now less than a month away, things are getting really exciting! Event attendees are going to have a very full weekend.
