Disney just dropped a new look at what’s coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and it’s a pretty big shift for the attraction.
In a post shared on social media, Walt Disney World teased a brand-new mission featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, along with new destinations you’ll visit during the ride. The update is set to debut May 22, 2026, at both Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
The newly revealed poster leans all the way into that story. The Mandalorian is front and center, jetpacking through space with Grogu tucked safely in his arms, while the Millennium Falcon and a chaotic space battle fill in the background. It gives off more of a cinematic, high-stakes feel than the current Smugglers Run setup, which has mostly centered around Hondo Ohnaka and cargo runs since opening day.

Disney hasn’t shared all the details on how the mission will look for guests, but it sounds like it might be more than a simple overlay. “New mission” and “new planets” make it feel like new scenarios are coming to the cockpit, not just a quick cameo or pre-show tweak.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect as the update lands the same day Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters and IMAX. You have to love the parks-and-movies crossover moments like this. If you’re visiting around that time, expect a lot of synergy between Galaxy’s Edge and the film.
This is a much-needed refresh for the Smuggler’s Run attraction. The ride has been pretty solid, but repeating it from one visit to another has been its weak spot. Swapping in a new storyline with fan-favorite characters could give guests a tangible reason to ride again.
We’ll keep an eye out for more details and will share them as they’re released. This definitely isn’t just a new poster. Something bigger is coming to the Falcon.
