New merchandise for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be “unboxed” live on YouTube over the course of 18 hours in 15 different cities across the globe.
The fun begins in Sydney, Australia on the morning of September 3rd and continues around the world, with stops in Asia, Europe, Canada, South America and ending 18 hours later at LucasFilm in San Francisco.
Each unboxing will feature a digital star from the popular Maker Studios. Toy and electronics unboxings have become very popular among YouTube viewers. According to Chris M. Williams of Maker Studios, it’s a way for people around to connect with others who share their passion.
