Orange County Mayor Issues Order Requiring Face Masks

Orange County (Florida) Mayor Jerry L. Demings just announced that he will be signing an executive order requiring face masks for all residents beginning Saturday, June 20th.

Demings said the order will be in effect indefinitely, adding that “we do not want to experience another shutdown in our community.”

Demings also said that there could be more restrictions in the future.

The executive order will apply to everyone working, living, or visiting Orange County, with exclusions for children under 2, people exercising (whole using social distancing), and people working in an job that doesn’t require face-to-face interaction. Exclusions also apply to individuals who would be impaired by a face mask due to a health condition.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer did not issue a separate order, as Demings’ order covers the whole county, but did urge people to wear masks…even in the Florida humidity.
