Orlando International Airport reports 10% increase in passengers

Orlando International Airport has reported a 10% increase in passengers over the past year. From August 2015 to August 2016, there were 41.3 million passengers coming through the airport.

In August, international traffic was up 10.5% from the same time last year, with 554,302 international travelers passing through the airport. Domestic passengers were up 7% to 2.8 million for the month of August.

The airport has had to make some changes to accommodate the influx of passengers; it was originally built for 24 million passengers annually. Screening lines have been expedited, ticket lobbies are being expanded, a new 2,500-space parking garage is being built, as well as a $1.8 billion south terminal to be completed in 2019.

Frank Kruppenbacher, chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, said, “As Orlando International Airport continues to attract new airline service and routes, we have been able to maintain a double-digit international passenger growth on a consistent basis. This in turn grows this destination and helps to further stimulate the local economy.”

So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
