Guests staying at Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort over the next couple of weeks should be aware of some temporary closures affecting the hotel’s rooftop recreation area. Disney has announced that the Pixel Pool, spa, Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, and splash pad are currently undergoing refurbishment, with the work extending through late September.
The Pixel Pool and spa are closed from September 8 through September 19, 2026. The closure affecting Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and the splash pad lasts a little longer, through September 25.
That difference in dates is worth keeping in mind if you’re staying at Pixar Place Hotel later this month. Even after the Pixel Pool and spa are scheduled to reopen, the slide and splash pad will remain unavailable for several additional days while their refurbishment continues.
Disney says select areas around Pixar Place Hotel are undergoing work as part of an effort to refresh the property and improve the overall guest experience. Some hotel offerings may be temporarily modified and certain spaces unavailable while the projects are underway. Disney is also contacting guests staying at Pixar Place Hotel before their arrival to make them aware of the work.
For anyone unfamiliar with the setup, the Pixel Pool area is one of the fun features added as part of the hotel’s transformation into Pixar Place Hotel. The rooftop recreation area includes Pixar touches throughout, with Crush’s Surfin’ Slide serving as one of its most recognizable features. Naturally, the temporary closures could be particularly important for families who were planning pool time during an upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation.
Disney says work with the greatest potential for noise will be limited to daylight hours in an effort to minimize the impact on hotel guests.
As things currently stand, the important dates are September 19 for the Pixel Pool and spa and September 25 for Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and splash pad. If you’re checking into Pixar Place Hotel during this refurbishment period, I’d definitely keep those dates handy when making your plans.
