Production Date Announced for Disney’s Live-Action Sword in the Stone Remake

Whether or not you love Disney’s live-action remakes of their classic animated films, so far, they have been a success at the box office.

Back in January, we told you that Disney was in talks with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to direct The Sword in the Stone remake. Since then, he’s signed on and according to Disney Film Facts, production is set to begin September 24, 2018, in Belfast, Ireland.

Disney is planning to launch their streaming service in 2019 and they’re busy getting new content ready with The Sword in the Stone being one of their flagship titles.

There hasn’t been any news shared with regards to casting or who will be playing the lead roles of Merlin or Arthur/Wart, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear anything.
