The Reedy Creek Improvement District, which is the governing jurisdiction over Walt Disney World, plans on adding two more medical assistance response carts to the property. These medical assistance response carts carry medical supplies to the patient on Disney property, and give immediate medical assistance while an ambulance is on its way.
Currently, Walt Disney World already uses these medical assistance response carts, but they want to add more. If next year’s budget passes, then Reedy Creek will be adding six new paramedic positions to staff these two new medical assistance response carts. The plan is for one of these carts to be stationed at Disney Springs, while the other roams the rest of Walt Disney World property.
The Orlando Sentinel spoke with Reedy Creek District Administrator John Classe, who said that the medical assistance response carts were “a lot more efficient for us” as compared to just having ambulances.
